Pogrom

Pogrom was a word that had originated from Russia, describing it as "an organized massacre, especially for jews" while elsewhere, it defines it as "The holocaust" as "the systematic mass slaughter of European Jews in Nazi concentration camps during World War ll". I think people deny or question that the holocaust because it haunts them and they do not want to deal with the fact that the holocaust has actually happened. People who deny or question the holocaust might of also had family that were in the holocaust and don't want to be haunted by their deaths, and just push it away from them. If I had family in the holocaust, I would not want to be taunted by the past, and would push it away too. Vladek lived in a part of Poland that was taken over later then the rest of Poland, but it got really tight for them. How well they describe the events during the time he lived is very well. When Vladek went around to get food or such things, he always saw Germans taking away Jewish people, for no reason at all. Also, his grandparents were taken away and gassed  since they were old and not "useful" for the Germans. How those words such as "victim" are controversial today are that, there are many victims and survivors of many things, but the holocaust was a big event to be a "victim" or "survivor" of, and if used wrong, could offend them. We can't sit here and deny the holocaust has happened, it is in the past now, and there is only one thing we can do about it, not repeat the same things Hitler had done.

GPS tracking

These days, teenagers tend to lie to their parents a lot about were they are going or who exactly they are hanging out with, but now, there's an app for that! There are a few new app's out there that allow parents to track their childern with GPS to see were they really are going and who exactly they are hanging out with. I think this is going a little to far then it is a good idea.

Kids these days usually go hang out with the wrong type of people, and do drugs or things they really shouldn't be doing. I think these kinds of apps show to kids that their parents do not really trust them, and can usually cause them to do things that they really shouldn't do, to get back at their parents. Kids also can just turn off their phone so their parents cannot track were they are exactly, but. I really think this is a invasion of the child's privacy and showing them that their parents do not really trust them.

But on the other hand, I do think this is a good idea. With this GPS app, parents can find out what their child is doing, and keep them out of trouble and other bad things like drugs. Parents shouldn't always watch their kids and what they do, I mainly think this shows the child that they are not very trusted by their parents, or that their parents are always over protective. Electronics are evolving to fast in this world, and they really do need to slow down. I think that they should not have these apps only for security reasons, and that electronics need to slow down on how fast they come out.

Switch off and slow down

In today's world, new phones, laptops, and tablets are coming out practically everyday, as I see, this is not very necessary, in fact, the new updates are just practically a brighter screen, or a smaller keyboard, or just a small screen. These updates are not necessary. The people who work at the companies know that people will buy a new cell phone, tablet, laptop, etc just because of a bigger screen, or it being brighter, all they really care about is the money. Computers are useful to some extent, like schooling, but, other people use them to play video games, or goofing around. I think there should be a national day were all electronics are turned off, to give us some time away from them, and really enjoy the real world. Choices are good to have, but, we don't need to have new computers, laptops, cell phones or tablets coming out everyday.

We just need to have phones that are able to text and call, we don't need to have internet on them, or social media, we can wait to get home to respond to someone on facebook, or we can just call them and talk to them on the phone. The world needs to stop making multiple, useless updates of phones, laptops, computers and tablets everyday, and we need to take a break from them in general.
